Day-to-day work

Connect where customers contact you

Connect a business account, choose its assistant and try a real test conversation.

Start with one channel

Open Settings → Apps. Choose a channel offered in your account, such as WhatsApp Business, Instagram, Facebook or email. You will need access to the business account and permission to connect it.

  1. Choose Connect on the relevant card.
  2. Complete the provider’s sign-in and permission steps. Check that you selected the right business, page, phone number or mailbox.
  3. Return to Typework and confirm that the account is connected.
  4. Check which assistant is linked to the channel, then send a test enquiry from a separate account.

Connection and replies are separate checks

A connected account is only the first step. The channel needs the intended assistant, correct business information and the appropriate reply setting. Confirm the test message appears in Inbox, then check the reply in the customer’s app as well.

For an existing WhatsApp number

Read the connection instructions shown for your account before moving a number you already use. Confirm the number’s eligibility and how existing app use and chat history will be handled. Do not assume your old conversations will appear automatically in Typework.

Sending options depend on the channel’s current rules and your account. If a message needs an approved template, choose a suitable template shown in Typework. Refer to current platform guidance for fees or questions about moving an existing number.

When a connection stops working

Check the account card for a reconnect option. Reconnect the same intended business account and repeat the test. Disconnecting a channel can interrupt customer replies and scheduled messages that depend on it, so check those jobs first.
